the Indiana Lumber and Builder's Supply Association

WHAT IS THE BLAIR COLLINGS SCHOLARSHIP?
The Young Lumbermens Club of the Indiana Lumber & Builders’ Supply Association, Inc. is pleased to present scholarship opportunities for ILBSA members for 2010. Named to honor the memory of Blair F. Collings of Rockville, Indiana, the scholarship awards collectively represent one of the largest academic scholarship programs among lumber and building material associations in the country.

The funding for the scholarship program, including all amounts awarded, is derived from the volunteer efforts of leaders of the Young Lumbermens Club of ILBSA. The main fundraising event for the program is the Sycamore Scramble Golf Outing, held in Plainfield, Indiana in August of each year. The money is raised by the generosity of the members in hole sponsorships, player fees, special contributions, and gifts. It is at this annual event that scholarships are awarded.

AWARD CEREMONY
The 2010 Sycamore Scramble is August 5, 2010 at Oak Tree Golf Course in Plainfield, IN. The scholarship recipients, notified in advance, should be in attendance at the scholarship dinner to be recognized by the membership.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
Any immediate family member of a member firm of the Indiana Lumber & Builders’ Supply Association (ILBSA), including retail and “associate”, is eligible to apply, regardless of applicant’s career choice, course of study, or grade level.

HOW ARE THE APPLICATIONS JUDGED?
The applications are reviewed and studied by the Scholarship Review Committee, a panel of association leaders.
